Regaining stregnth and flexibility

I have been attending Dahn Yoga for 7 months. I believe I was divinely guided here. Physically my body is stronger and more flexible. My joints are much more mobile. I had suffered from chronic pain for 20 years, limiting many of my favorite activities. It has been a rewarding experience coming here to the center. The Brain Wave Vibration is the most marvelous tool for changing your life, your body, your mind and uplifting your spirit. My life has opened up into a whole new world of possibilities. I LOVE DAHN YOGA- BRAIN WAVE VIBRATION.

Now I’m really walking

Due to back and neck pain, the only exercise I used to do was walking–with limitations because my sciatic nerve was pinched most of the time. In addition, for the last 6 months I have had plantar fasciitis in my feet which made walking very painful. Now, after guidance from our Head Instructor Ben on how to walk correctly (Jang Saeng or Vitality Walking), the pain in the soles of my feet has disappeared. And thanks to the Dahn Yoga sessions, which include Brain Wave Vibration, the sciatic nerve has not been bothering me for the last three weeks. When I first began to walk to the Dahn Yoga center, it took me 45 minutes. Now I am able to walk very briskly and the same distance takes me 25 minutes.

When I first started practicing I was concerned about my lack of flexibility, balance, and the coordination of my body, but as time goes by I feel more and more agile.

An additional benefit is that I have lost some weight and for first time in my life, controlling my weight is not a great sacrifice, since my body doesn¡¯t crave food all of the time.

I still have some issues with my back, but I am absolutely sure that with regular training the pain will eventually go away. This realization is perhaps the most important benefit from DahnMuDo and Brain Wave Vibration: my attitude has changed not only towards physical pain but also towards emotional pain. I am not only able to control my body better, but using a few tips I have received, I am able to control my emotions better as well.

Lastly but not least, I found a great group of people who share the same objectives as I do–to have a healthier and happier life.

Brain Wave Vibration opens up my mind so I can study better

I have been doing Brain Wave Vibration throughout the past year. My overall experience so far is that it helps me clear my mind and have sharper focus. This is especially useful as a student. I feel more relaxed taking in new information, and I am able to apply what I’m learning with a more open feeling–a broader view of who I am and what I’m doing. Emotionally I feel lighter and more positive since starting this training. A great simple tool :)

Hope in the Face of Multiple Sclerosis

Through her Brain Wave Vibration classes she was able to go from having shaky legs that couldn’t balance and walking with a walker, to walking just fine on her own. Even more than that, she found a more positive attitude and a sense of hope about her life.

Overall Dahn Yoga has been very a positive influence on my life.

I joined Dahn Yoga in June 2006 after I received a flyer on my doorstep. It offered a free trial class and I had been thinking I needed to try some sort of a class to increase my flexibility.

I did not read the flyer closely because I was so busy that I missed the free class.I pretty much just showed up and asked to give it a try. Once I was there, the class seemed very silly and tried hard not to laugh in class. I did not think I got anything from the class.

However, after the evening class I went home and actually got a good nights sleep for the first time in years. The next day I returned and signed up for a 3 month program and made a promise to myself to give this class my best efforts.I kept my promise and attended the evening class every evening I was available.

Then I started working individually with my instructor in private healing classes.The first few sessions were very painful and I did not think I was ever going to make progress. By the last few sessions, I felt so much better, it was remarkable. I have improved my flexibility and reduced my joint pain tremendously.I feel much more in control and am losing weight.

Overall Dahn Yoga has been very a positive influence on my life and I will continue to make progress with my goals.

It has truly been a life changing experience

As an elementary school teacher, I am directly impacting the lives of my students and need a lot of energy to do so. Dahn not only helped increase my energy, it improved my concentration, and reminded me how important it is to cherish the relationships I have with my students. Regardless of how stressed I am or how trying a situation may be, I know that I can choose how I am going to react based on what type of energy I put forth. It is incredible to have such power and control over my thoughts, emotions, and habits. It has truly been a life changing experience.

Losing the power struggle, winning my life back

The goal changed I felt it became more improtant to me to make myself strong and powerful, because you know we all have times where we fell frustrated and saddened, lonely and separated, and disconnected and fearful and everthing and you know when you feel like that your very susceptible to what other people tell you, their opinion and what they think you should do and you dont , you get , you lose your own power. You dont have your own strength inside yourself. So I decided that that was going to be important for me that that was the main thing I needed to do. Actually by the time it was over I was feeling very very powerful and I felt that, uh, in fact I began telling a few people off, which isnt neccessary. And also I’ve always had trouble with my neck and my neck was always very stiff but I found that this has really helped improve that. So that its not so painful and if I wake up and it bothers me I just do some vibration and it’s getting better.

The Laundromat trip that changed my life

Hello! My name is Robyn, and I have been practicing for more than 3 years. My Dahn practice has helped me grow mentally, physically, and spiritually, and has been one of the best things I have ever done for myself, and ultimately, for society.

One day, I walked into my local Laundromat and found a brochure from the UW Dahn Center, which was a very convenient location from my house. I called and made an appointment, and then had an energy checkup and general physical condition evaluation from Master Brian. It was no surprise to me to learn that I had virtually no energy and was under a lot of stress, since I had just started a new job with a STEEP learning curve! Although I have a meditation practice and am in a 12-step program, something wasn’t working, so I needed something else.

I wanted a way to manage my stress so I could do my job. I got so much more! My last eye exam was better than the previous two had been, and my bone scan for osteoporosis showed that I no longer have it, but my doctor wants to test me again in 2 years, to see if that really happened. I believe it did! In addition to being more focused at work, and am able to handle stress as it comes along, I’ve lost 12 pounds, and gained in spiritual growth and concept of cosmic energy. Of course, this has greatly enhanced my self esteem and given me a purpose and direction for my life. My dream is to open a BBC in the northeast Seattle area within 2 years.

I recommend the dahn method of yoga and Dahn Mu Do to anyone who wants an integrated approach to a healthy and happy lifestyle.

Rejuvenation through challenging myself

Doing something physical helps move my energy and makes me think differently. It is nice to try something new to challenge myself in a different way. It is also I feel necessary to feed your body well and take care of yourself so you can take on new challenges.

It is important to know your body’s condition, however to seek out options to add in to make your overall condition better and healthier.

I believe we have more answers to the health and condition of our body than we can believe. IT is important we teake action to take care of ourselves and then we can see what we can be more than we thought.

The first few days I felt weak and I got runners knee. Now however taking care of my body, strength and stretching i feel my legs and heart getting stronger. I still have ways to go but this is a good beginning.

I truly can say I am hitting somewhat of a new turning point in my life right now. I am really beginning to trust my brain as I give myself new postive information! :) MY body is beginning to feel that trust . Challenging myself in new ways and not just accepting my precondition as is..is rejuvenating!

It is really awesome to be discovering and challenging myself in new ways again and never giving up to learn new skills. This is amazing and this is why I love our practice so much. I am grateful. I am thankful for this new opportunity. I am keeping it up!

I’ve been taking Dahn Yoga now for almost 4 years. I really enjoy being here. I think it has changed a lot of my thinking and my perspective. In the beginning it was hard, but the more I keep on coming, the more I enjoy coming. I would not leave it for the world. I really love it. I really enjoy Dahn Yoga. And I think anybody who’s thinking of doing it, you will enjoy it. Just try it. The only thing is to try. When I first started, I hadn’t done anything yoga. I was just looking for exercise and, at my amazement; I got something more than exercise. I got body, mind, and you know, physical, so basically, it does definitely make you focus on your mind and your thinking of the outside. I am happy to take Dahn Yoga.
