Nourishing my spirit

When I started my Brain Wave Vibration training, I decided I would focus on the goal, “I am nourishing my spirit.” I chose this because many times it is hard for me to make even small choices for my highest good. Things like healthy eating and exercise, or procrastinating over small projects, I create a log jam of weight actually & figuratively in my mind, body and spirit.

When I do make good choices and respond to my inner voice (what I call “my spirit”), I feel at one with myself and am therefore more available to others that I care about. I am then able to share myself and give in an open and loving way because at this time I can give from a “full cup.” A long time ago I was told by a very wise woman,
“You cannot give from an empty cup,”–this advice came during a time when a much-loved relative was waging a losing battle with cancer.

After one Brain Wave Vibration training, I watched the tea being poured into the cups in the tea circle, filling each to the brim, and a thought came to me, “She gives from a full cup,” and my heart opened and tears welled up–my sign that a personal truth is spoken. I shared this thought to the group and went on to describe the changes in my thinking and behavior that had been occurring since doing Brain Wave Vibration. The good choices were becoming easier and more frequent, like being on autopilot.

Most important to me, however, was the transition that had taken place during that day’s class. While doing Brain Wave Vibration and focusing on, “I am nourishing my spirit,” the phrase flipped in my head and became, “My spirit is nourishing me.”

Midway through my 21 day training

You may have seen my post several days ago on my first day of a special form of 21-day Brain Wave Vibration training. Today is day 11 and I wanted to update you on my progress. The training is to bow 300 times each day for 21 days. I have learned a lot about myself so far. For example, when I began this training I didn’t fully comprehend the commitment and the importance of the promise I made to myself to keep training each day. On day 5 I felt tired and only did 160 bows, but I didn’t feel good about it. When I discussed this with the head instructor at my center they encouraged me to make up for the missed bows. This meant that I needed to do 440 bows the following day. It felt like a huge wall was placed in front of me. I wondered if I had enough courage and commitment in me to continue the training. I am proud to report that I did complete the 440 bows on day 6 and I have continued with the 300 bows each day since. Now on day 11 the bowing meditation is easier, my lower body is getting strong, and I am gaining self confidence that will be useful in all areas of my life.

It Doesn’t Require a Change of Clothes, Sweating, or a Class

I have been practicing Dahn Yoga for over 5 years and have had a quantum leap in improvement of the experience of my life. I have used the principles from the Dahn Yoga Basics book in my work with psychotherapy patients and have seen them improve dramatically in their ability to grow through the issues they face.

Now with the new book, Brain Wave Vibration, I have a new tool in my work, and also in my personal life.
I felt this was a clear and easily read explanation of the principles underlying the benefits of vibrational exercises. Ilchi Lee used examples from many cultures that illustrate the universality of the awareness of these principles.

In my own life I am happy to have a simple, easy technique that doesn’t require a change of clothes, sweating, or a class to practice. It can be used at any time that you need the resetting of the brain. I use it when I feel myself getting emotionally caught up in a situation, or when I am beginning a project or interaction that needs a clear mind. I feel much calmer, less reactive and I am maintaining more balance.

In my work, this technique will be easy for my clients to use and add to the other Dahn exercises I have assigned them, without feeling overwhelmed.

The book is a must read for any practitioner! It will keep you from taking yourself too seriously. It is so simple, anyone can get the benefits.

From Losing Weight to Healing Acid Reflux, Brain Wave Vibration Does It All

I’ve been doing BWV for 10 months and I can say, it works! I no longer have to take medication for Acid Reflux or pain relievers for constant headaches. I don’t grind my teeth any more. I have lost 20 lbs without even trying. My friends and family noticed how calm I have become. The great thing is you can do it any time you are feeling out of sorts and within minutes you feel better. Having the right rhythmic music helps with the practice, so I recommend getting the Brain Wave Vibration music CD. I have shared this practice with my family and friends and they have their own stories to tell on how they have started healing themselves. WOW!

Giving the gift of love to myself

My daughter and I joined Dahn Yoga in November 2006. We wanted to learn yoga and get fit. Little did we know we received more than exercise!

I was so busy loving and caring for family and friends, I forgot to love and care for myself. I was so emotional in the beginning, crying in class and was in pain doing the moves. It just takes time and telling myself, “ICAN DO IT, I CAN DO IT!” The homework helps and going to class three times a week have amde me stronger emotionally, more flexible, and I have a lot of energy.

The Brain Wave Vibration CD and book has helped me. I work it in with my homework. Ten minutes everyday makes for a happy day. This has trained me to live in the moment and appreciate the little things in life. Listening to the birds sing, hearing the sounds of the outdoors, enjoying the warmth of the sunshine.

What a fantastic gift I’ve given myself joining Dahn Yoga. Now I take the time to care for and love myself.

How wonderful this experience has been to share this with my daughter. We share what we have learned in Dahn Yoga with our family and friends.

Thank you Mi Young, my Head Instructor, for making this a part of my lfie, you are such an inspiration.

Losing weight physicall and mentally

My reflection on the 21-day miracle Brain Wave Vibration training:

Working the 21 day miracle, I set my goal to lose 5 lbs. and to be more in sync with my deepest desire–to be one spiritually and physically, centered in my response to God in my life.

Morning and evening I am faithful to 5-10 minutes of BWV, daily chewing each bite of my food 25 times, walking on days I don’t have yoga class, and practicing yoga at home. I feel my total well-being increasing, and less pain in my knees and back. I realize again the importance of group support in reaching one’s goals. I have grown in my daily practice, and have to improve in eating well. At my age, change comes more slowly, but it is happening. And, even including the Thanksgiving Holidays, I lost 3 lbs. Yes!!

Awakening to True Freedom

I have been practicing Ilchi Lee’s holistic training for over 4 years. I have attended innumerable workshops and am a Mago life member. When I practice this latest exercise at my local HSP Holistic Centre (Epsom-UK), I feel closer and closer to my real self. It gives me a Freedom that connects my body and soul in a Cosmic way beyond the limitations of my physical body. It’s the perfect state of Being and Universal Consciousness. My left brain becomes harmonised with my right brain in a state of calm, peace and emptiness. In this day and age with all the turmoils and vicissitudes, it all becomes so clear in the detachment and realisation of the impermanence of everything. Every minute of everyday becomes the most precious moment I will ever live. Truly Freedom is another word for when I have nothing left to Lose!

Hope for Colon Cancer Suvivor

One never knows where life will take you or what obstacles in life you have to face. In the early Fall of 2006, at the age of 50, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer and its repercussions. Six months later, destiny led me into the doorway of a new beginning. Yoga as I knew it just meant another type of vigorous exercise program. What my daughter Abby introduced me to was not only exercise for the body, but it was exercise for the whole body (mind, body and spirit). I vigorously and enthusiastically attended the Dahn Yoga program at the Henderson, Nevada center, and still do to-date. The benefits I have witnessed and attest to are real. I have discovered freedom from the enslaved life of illness. My illness flowed into my mind and spirit and I became a dormant (dead) living person. As an Active Teacher and independent Mother of four, I felt useless to the world until I discovered Brain Wave Vibration (BWV). I learned BWV simply by rotating my head side to side and front to back from my brain stem. It initially opened up energy vibration and stimulated the left and right brain lobes. Eventually, the energy that is flowing envelopes my whole body and the colossal, bright and radiant energy entering my body becomes mine and no one else’s. What I witness every time I do BWV is a euphoric unexplainable feeling. Its almost like the beginning of a new life for me. I can testify to pure, self-discovery of my own body. Well into my fourth month, I remember a jolt of energy reaping into my abdomen and I felt some muscle sensation. Even now, I feel great! I work with my daily stresses, my body is less tight, I¡¯m no longer fighting off depression, my muscles feel toned and refined, and I no longer feel fatigued and listless. My mind is alert and my memory skills are quick, as well as those for thinking and decision making. I no longer stress out with enduring headaches, and most of all I feel joy and happiness. I am calm and aware of my body, mind, and spirit. It is a must to continue BWV. I recommend it to the whole Universe.

Reaching My Goals through Brain Wave Vibration

When I started on my 21-day Brain Wave Vibration journey, I set up four goals. I felt confident that I would achieve them, but wasn’t sure if it could be done in 21 days. After attending class daily, I began to notice that I was able to allow myself to be happier and was trying to be more positive about life. I really started to feel stronger and healthier. I noticed that I didn’t want to eat as much junk food as before and that I wanted to try to eat healthier as well. One thing that I noticed had changed was that I was able to focus better on what I was doing. I am always easily distracted but now I find it easier to read a book and concentrate on what I am reading. I have also found that I can stop and take a break to feel the peacefulness of our earth. I was later asked to add three more goals to my list and I didn’t hesitate to make those declarations. Now that the 21 days are over, I plan to continue practicing BWV as part of my daily routine. The most important thing I want to do is teach this exercise to my children and husband. I plan on keeping them healthy, happy, and filled with my love.
