Emily Cannon Kough Manages Cerebral Palsy and a Busy, Analytical Mind with Brain Wave Vibration

” What I like about the Brain Wave Vibration is not only that it brings my energy down, but it also calms my brain. Also a lot of times, I do the vibration on the floor because I have Cerebral Palsy in my muslce. Its really been I would call it a gift because it’s really helped me work through some of the stiffness and such that I experience. I’m very analytical. I’m a scientist by trade and so I’m constantly analyzing and thinking and planning. ‘What’s the next thing I need to do?’ Even in the morning when I get up and I’m doing the tapping in the morning and the vibration, I’ve already started. As soon as I get out of bed, I’ve started thinking about what I have to do for the day. And so, its been interesting because just that 15 or 20 minutes of tapping and Brain Wave Vibration makes my brain just stop and not be planning and thinking and doing all of those thing. As I’ve heard it described, it seems to settle me down enough that I can sort of logically and very carefully plan my day, but not just be wired and disorganized. It helps me in being more organized. It’s not just that it stops me from thinking and being distracted but I also think part of having CP is I’ve had to train another part of my brain to move my legs. So the Brain Wave Vibration has really helped me. My brain seems more elastic. I’m more free to do things. Its easier to do things, both physically and mentally. Its just really been a powerful tool and I’ve started telling people about it. Saying you reall ought to check this out.”

Feeling more peaceful and centered

My goal for my 21-day Brain Wave Vibration training at my Dahn Yoga Center was to get in touch with my true self. While I have not fully accomplished that goal, I feel that I made great strides in identifying the path to reach my goal and have gained the strength to allow me to follow that path.

My homework consisted of bow training, Brain Wave Vibration, an energy meditation called Ji Gam, and a variety of strength building exercises. While I did not feel that the bow training helped me that much, I think it did help me focus better for brain wave vibration and the energy meditation that followed. I felt very strong energy during Ji Gam, which made me feel that I was in touch with my true self. Ji Gam helped me identify many of my blockages and helped me make progress in releasing them. For strength training, I did the Sleeping Dragon posture, starting with 2 minutes and working up to 4 minutes. I also did push-ups, starting with 20 and working up to 55. It was very empowering to realize how quickly I could gain strength in just a few minutes of practice each day.

I always wish for peace and relaxation in my life, but feel that I never have it. My training helped me realize the importance of taking time every day to take care of myself, even if it is only 15 minutes a day. There were days that I did not feel like doing my homework, but I made sure that I got it done every day and generally felt much better for having done it.

I had not realized how greatly my energy was affecting the dynamic of my family. As I started to become more centered, I found that I was better able to deal with my family and they in turn responded more positively toward me. There was less yelling and more cooperation. My training helped me realize that I have the strength to make my life whatever I want it to be. All it takes is dedication to myself.

As an added bonus, I lost three pounds! While I was not consciously watching my diet, I found that I was making fewer trips to the candy jar as I released my negative emotions instead of holding onto them. I am definitely looking forward to our next 21-day journey!

Brain Wave Vibration opens up my mind so I can study better

I have been doing Brain Wave Vibration throughout the past year. My overall experience so far is that it helps me clear my mind and have sharper focus. This is especially useful as a student. I feel more relaxed taking in new information, and I am able to apply what I’m learning with a more open feeling–a broader view of who I am and what I’m doing. Emotionally I feel lighter and more positive since starting this training. A great simple tool :)

My Brain Wave Vibration Evolution

When I first started Brain Wave Vibration (BWV), it intrigued me. Our instructor suggested forming a goal prior to starting the exercise. So, I immediately decided to set something I didn’t think would work: getting out of bed in the morning on time. Well, to my surprise, it did work. Not only do I get out of bed on time, I actually wake up BEFORE the radio comes on. With such amazing success, I do Brain Wave Vibration much more often and with greater focus than before. Immediately on starting BWV, I now feel a surge of energy, then relaxation throughout my whole body. What a stress reliever! Whenever I start getting uptight, like in traffic or worrying about being late, I have a tool that eases my anxiety. Today, I’m more relaxed and I’m looking forward to the next benefit I’ll find from BWV. BWV’s proved to be a real and delightful adventure.

I attend Dahn Yoga center in Henderson, Nevada under the instruction of the center’s awesome Head Instructor. I have had the pleasure to see the progress with Ana’s daughter with Retts Syndrome (a must see video). Brain Wave Vibration has helped me gain mental, physical and spiritual strength in a short amount of time. It has opened me up to a whole new world of healing one’s own discomforts, pains and illnesses through changing the pattern of the brain. By creating new changes to the brain I can feel the difference in how my brain stem, when in better connection with my body and soul, can make a sizeable difference in the way I feel, and the way my body responds to all of life’s energy. Being a breast cancer survivor I am happy to say that, in my 44 years of life, I have never felt better since I have been attending Dahn Yoga and studying Brain Wave Vibration. Lower Blood Pressure Naturally

Thanks to Brain Wave Vibration, I am able to keep centered and calm in some of the most trying times. I used to have high blood pressure, and I was taking two kinds of medication, but it did not lower it enough. Now I am off the medication and my blood pressure is down. When I feel the need to take my focus away from a stressful situation, Brain Wave Vibration works so much faster than medication for me, and the only side effect is lower blood pressure, calmer nervous system, and a clearer mind. The best part is that it is so easy to do, and it works in minutes and cost nothing.

I’ve been taking Dahn Yoga now for almost 4 years. I really enjoy being here. I think it has changed a lot of my thinking and my perspective. In the beginning it was hard, but the more I keep on coming, the more I enjoy coming. I would not leave it for the world. I really love it. I really enjoy Dahn Yoga. And I think anybody who’s thinking of doing it, you will enjoy it. Just try it. The only thing is to try. When I first started, I hadn’t done anything yoga. I was just looking for exercise and, at my amazement; I got something more than exercise. I got body, mind, and you know, physical, so basically, it does definitely make you focus on your mind and your thinking of the outside. I am happy to take Dahn Yoga.

Facing myself and being who I want to be with Dahn Yoga!

OK so let’s face it – one doesn’t get fat, out of shape and feel like twice their age by loving vegetables and exercise. I had let myself go for a number of years and a number of reasons. When I came in for my one hour prescreening check up, I found out just where I really was. I tried to bend over and touch my toes and I couldn’t even come close! Now I am not sure if it was lack of flexibility or too much gut in the way – most likely both?everything was sore, my scoliosis bothered me a lot, my blood pressure was borderline high, it was like I was ready to be put out to pasture!! When my hour was up, Master Morgan had me feeling so much better for a few days that I had to at least give Dahn a try. I signed up for the 3 month trial and came my 3 times a week every week.

I have to admit I was a bit freaked out by the hugs and loving environment. I was not used to that and the walls I built around myself were thick. I was sent to Shim Sung within a few weeks. It changed my life and started me on this incredible journey of growth and discovery. I attended as many workshops as I could, I became a Gold Member and started showing up most days of the week. I was feeling much better and seeing some improvement. Did I find the key?
It all ramped up even more when I started taking the deep training with Master Jang. I have become so much stronger and healthier. I have had many people tell me I look like a completely different YOUNGER person (of course playing with the YEHAS helps!) My weight has decreased, my gravity pulled body parts are reshaping back upward and I feel great! My aches and pains are all gone and my back rarely hurts anymore.

I saw the doctor yesterday and she said with the severity of the curve in my spine I should be in an intense amount of pain right now; they usually have to operate at this point to help relieve some of the pain. She was shocked to see otherwise. She sat across from me, put her pen and paperwork down and said “I have to be honest with you?you have lost over 55 pounds, your back is a miracle, your blood pressure is fine and you look great ?healthier then I have ever seen you. Your (Dahn) yoga has done more for you in the last 8 months then I as a doctor could have ever done. Keep it up?
Wow? I guess I DID find the key!!! And who knew I could open my heart this much. No more freak outs over hugs J

Looking forward to more!

Dahn Yoga has helped me mentally by being more relaxed and learning to deal with stressful situations more easily. My body is sore all over from all the stretching, but it’s sore in a good way because I know I am getting more flexible with each class. The instructors are FABULOUS and I am so grateful to them for all they have given me. This is the BEST thing I could have ever done for myself!!! Thank You, Dahn Yoga.
I am looking forward to attending the Initial Awakening class in a couple of weeks!!!
